This Damascus hunter is constructed of three different types of Damascus. The spine and cutting edge are twist Damascus, the middle is explosion mosaic Damascus, and the Eagle, Globe, and Anchor is canister Damascus. The patterns in the middle are typically forge welded with an overlap between the tiles; this allows for an easier weld. These tiles have been butt forge welded together to keep the explosion pattern and the EGA from distorting. This is typically not done this way due to the difficulty of the weld but necessary in this case.
The handle is constructed of a stainless steel guard with a black ash burl spacer and an antler with the coronet as the pommel. It has been shaped and contoured to fit in the hand very comfortably. Blade length is 4 5/8 inches, 10 inches overall. Forged. SEMPER FI.
This knife comes with a two-tone brown leather hand stamped belt sheath made by the maker.
About the Maker: Terry Wright is from Harrisburg, AR and has been making knives since 2008. He transitioned into forging complex mosaic Damascus patterns in 2018 and enjoys making stunning Damascus blades that other makers have to think hard to figure out the process. His knives have been featured in Blade Magazine and Knives Illustrated.
