This Damascus Cleaver is one of only a few made by the maker. It was forged of 280 layers of 1084 and 15n20. Over the process of forging the blade to the desired thickness, it almost developed a rain drop pattern to it. The handle is assembled with segmented scales of Desert Ironwood, Purple Heart and G10 with Tiffany Blue G10 liners. The scales, although look like they could be taken off, are epoxied onto the tang. It includes a leather lanyard.
Blade thickness is 1/8 inches, width is 2 1/2 inches, length is 5 inches and it is 10 3/4 inches overall. Forged Damascus and profile.
This knife comes with a black nylon zipper pouch with the maker's mark embroidered on it, a tin of Wicked Wax, and a letter from the maker.
About the Maker: Dale Holt is a decorative blacksmith and bladesmith from Russellville, Arkansas. Every knife he creates is forged Damascus produced by his own hands and features a "Check H" maker's mark mimicking the cattle brand used by his grandfather. Dale is an ABS apprentice and has been forging knives since 2021.
