X-Rhea Chopper in 80CrV2

This X-Rhea Chopper is forged from 80CrV2 with a flat grind, hand rubbed finish with forging marks and a x-ray full tang. It is comfortable and well balanced in the hand, lending itself to be an excellent tool or meat chopper. The handle has been forged to shape and riveted back to the ricasso for a solid connection. Full tang. 9 1/2 inch blade, 15 3/4 inches overall. 80CrV2 steel. Forged. 32 oz with sheath.

It comes with a custom right-handed cross draw leather sheath that was made by Joshua Rhea, nephew to Lin Rhea, MS.

About the Maker: Lin Rhea is a Master Smith through the American Bladesmith Society and has been smithing for 22+ years. He is from Prattsville, Arkansas and studied bladesmithing at the Bill Moran School of Bladesmithing in his home state. He has received numerous awards in this craft and was recently honored to receive the 2023 Arkansas Living Treasure award for his work and dedication to the craft of bladesmithing in Arkansas. 

One of Lin’s most notable endeavors is his X-Rhea  design. The crafting of the X-Rhea was a personal challenge to forge an entire knife from a single piece of steel. It’s design and craftsmanship is something that talented smiths across the world marvel at to this day.
